The challenge:

Following the acquisition of ISS Landscaping, one of the UK’s leading grounds maintenance companies, by Sullivan Street Partners, the decision was taken to rebrand the organisation as part of its continued growth strategy.

SHIFT Public Relations was appointed to deliver the rebrand, create the business’s core marketing assets and complete the new website copywriting in a timeframe of only six weeks.

Following a series of management interviews, a competitor peer review and a brand-positioning exercise that would be used to establish the new brand’s promise, personality and performance, SHIFT Public Relations embarked on a wide-reaching visual identity programme that culminated in 22 potential identities across seven creative development themes including: bees, tree of life, garden gnome, wise owl, digital butterfly, squirrel and Britain’s beautiful landscape.

The results:

After the shortlisted selection was presented to Tivoli’s management board, the chosen identity built on the bee theme, which conveys a positive and friendly feel with a simple message about the importance of preserving and looking after the environment.

In an industry dominated by grounds maintenance brands made up of the colour green, leaves and trees – all of which follow convention – Tivoli’s rich combination of black and yellow stands out from the crowd and has established Tivoli as a ground maintenance business with a unique identity.

Once the new brand was signed off, SHIFT Public Relations began its role as website copywriter in order to ensure that the website was ready to launch in tandem with the new brand.
